Malama O Puna, a Hawaii environmental nonprofit, will hold its annual general membership meeting on Saturday, May 11, from 2-4 p.m. at the Nanawale Community Association Longhouse.

The agenda will include election of new officers, a year-to-date update of activities and accomplishments, exhibits and educational materials. There will be light refreshments. MOP tees and tanks will be on sale and new and renewal memberships will be accepted.

All members are urged to attend, and non-members are also welcome, said President Rene Siracusa.

Following the meeting the group will adjourn to MOP’s 9-acre parcel on Hapu‘u Street, where a native tree arboretum is being developed. Attendees can tour the area, check on recent plantings and (optionally) weed, fertilize and outplant more native species.

Sturdy footwear and long pants are recommended. Gardening gloves will be provided. For more information, please contact Siracusa at malamaopuna@yahoo.com. Visit www.malamaopuna.org.
